Public Health Submissions
Te Mana Ora | Community and Public Health recognises that the factors that most impact the health and wellbeing of those in Canterbury lie outside the health system.
One objective of Te Whatu Ora – under the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022 – is to “promote health and prevent, reduce and delay ill health, including by collaborating with other agencies, organisations and individuals to address the determinants of health”.
Submissions are an important way for Te Mana Ora to support this objective locally and influence the decisions of other regional organisations and promote public health in decision making.
Te Mana Ora coordinated submissions on behalf of the Canterbury DHB until the health system reforms began in late 2022, and these are listed below.
